A few years back, some disabled Vets (Vietnam era) were living in old motorhomes in and around Ocean Beach, San Diego. A few were painted in a similar fashion.
There was this old fellow who I met out by the Salton Sea (near Slab City) at his multi-colored mountain and got the tour one day in July when it was at least 100 degrees:

I like lots of color. Seems to me that there would be less traffic accidents if more vehicles were painted so brightly.
