With the attention to failing and deadly airbags with a vast multitude of affected vehicle manufacturers I wanted to find out if either of our Subaru's were affected and not trusting the local dealer looked for and answer and found the NHTSA where all you have to do is plug in your VIN number http://www.nhtsa.gov/Vehicle+Safety/Recalls+&+Defects

Having said that I just have to call out one of my personal pet peeves.

VIN stands for Vehicle Identification Number - so VIN number is Vehicle Identification Number number.
likewise with:

PIN - Personal Identification Number - NOT "PIN number"
ATM - Automatic Teller Machine - NOT "ATM machine"
"Hot Water Heater"? Why on Earth would you heat hot water? What you got there is a Water Heater.
