Well it turns out it is thicker.... I actually measured it because I have been having so many problems trying to bend it. I got the stuff over a year ago and forgot what I had gotten. I went to Lowes to see what they have and they have some stuff that they call .50 mm or something like that (about 3/16th) but Im going to wait till tomorrow and go to a specialty wood store and see if I can find something closer to 1/8th.

I wondered! What I'm using is the 3/16 material... sends to bend fine. Although I haven't bent it except for experimentation.

Well I bought some 1/8th sheets at home depot. When i put one on top of the front radius to see how far it would bend, the veneer cracked and bubbled under minimal pressure... Turns out the top layer was paper thin. I might as well have bought wood grain contact paper. So I decided to use my 1/4 inch stuff and kerf the back of it. I cut every half inch on a 4' wide piece. Made it really bendable! Still needs slight wetting and bending, but I am very pleased with it. Its to dark or I would have some pictures. I'm hoping to be able to install the headliner by the end of the day tomorrow. Pictures to follow.

Word of the day kerfing. These kerfs are 1/2inch apart and total 96 cuts. Took myself and my father in law about an hour tag teaming moving the guard on the table saw and pushing it through. Once the cuts were made I put it on the trailer with some wet towels overnight and this is what I ended up with. Pretty pleased with the outcome.

Bent section of the headliner is in. My trailer isn't square because I built off of the flatbed frame which wasn't square. This caused the headliner not to go In quite as easily as I planned. I added some shims which solved my problems. I then added some liquid nails along the spars to prevent the headliner from sagging in the future as I only stapled on the edges. The I spread the remaining liquid nails into some of the kerfs to help make the piece more rigid.

I finished running the cabin wires from my fuse box. I also installed the last piece of the headliner in the cabin area.

I'm jealous of your progress! It looks like things are progressing nicely. My project is stuck in a holding pattern right now so it's good to see someone else's still moving forward! Keep up the great work!

Thanks. I know the feeling all to well... I bought my trailers frame back in august of 2011. Every year something comes up that makes me put this project on hold. Money and time usually the problem. When I have the money I don't have the time and when I have time I don't have money. I'm lucky enough that right now I have some time and enough materials to get me by for a while.

I had a bit of time today so I started adding some foam board insulation with some help from my little man.
