looks nice, Mike! We don't have the inside profile shape, but our trailer does have a bit of the outs ide bump out at the top and gradual decline. Kind of whale shaped, so we call it monstro. We filled the space inside with cabinets, however, so it is still straight up and down inside.

Auto manufacturers call that ergonomics. Add a dropped floor for the feets and you may have something. I haven't seen one but I wish I had your CAD program. Can't justify buying one for one or two builds.

Here is a link to a series of videos that I put together showing how to design a teardrop in SketchUp. It is a fairly simple program to use. Another big plus is that it is free.

Dan thanks for that link, I just saw it going back over this thread. This should help me a bunch. Last night I spent hours while watching the Colts, trying to teach myself SketchUp and got no where.

I'm beginning to obsess over my new build and the design. I thought I learned a lot after my first build in 2006. Since then, there are new methods and materials that I have not kept up with, so I'm learning all over again. Fortunately the basics are still the same.

That profile is growing on me. I wonder if it will be better aerodynamically, looks like it could be. I was leaning toward a Cabin Car profile for my build on a 75" x 142" pop up frame, I'll have to give this some thought.

The cabin is extra long. I had to add an extra 2 feet to get the dog beds in there by our feet.

How about a side tent for the dogs?
As dogs don't last forever....so once they are gone you can quit putting up a tent again and get back to TD camping.
or you can you can cut that couple feet off of the trailer~

When I built my shantyboat I flared the sides out about 7 degrees so that it was comfortable leaning back on the side bench. I am thinking about doing the same to the rear upper half of the Weekender II build -

While not exactly the same, ours is curved similar to that one. I was going to put a cabinet in the front but once I leaned against the wall, it just felt to good. Great for reading or watching tv and I don't need extra pillows to lean against and then find a place to store them.

And as for practicality, I find it more practical to bring the dog than pay for kennel, unless of course, you have someone reliable that will feed them / let them out for free in which case you are lucky.

I think it's a good idea to have a nice big comfortable angles headboard.

The front of my headboard cabinet is angled to allow for sitting in our teardrop:



(We place our pillows on the doors for seatback cushions.) It is a very comfortable arrangement.

If you go with a seat back taller than bottom of the shoulder blade, you may want to mock it up first. Usually a tall seat back in a straight plane is not comfortable.

Where in MI are you? I'm just north of Fort Wayne. Did you ever finish your foamie? I read the 40 pages of your build and we are left hanging. Kind of like having to wait all summer to find out who shot JR. If you are old enough to remember that.

I got punchcad and if you go for the free trial they keep sending you emails to entice you with discounts. I let the free trail run out and got 30% off. it only cost me $70 instead of the $99. Skecth up is still free though and there is alot of stuff in their warehouse that you can take parts off and use in your designs. I've pulled out widow and doors out of other trailers and put them in my trailer to see how they look.
