I did that experiment and they increased the shipping to $120 USD from memory. Window is $295USD. Watson & Dunn have a fixed window for less. Have a look on eBay or their web site. I thought cheaper here. The window is not tinted but they said about $15 to tint.

I was thinking of it also but having second and third thoughts after reading about condensation dripping on your face.

Hi West Islanders. Frank here from NZ. We went with the Little Guy doors and are very pleased with them. We looked at the Aus ones but they were a lot more expensive, and we weren't all that keen on the double door screen door arrangement but we don't have the snakes and drop bears here. I also found a manufacturer of boat and camper doors etc in our town who could make some for us but I almost passed out when he quoted NZ$1800.00 each door. Yes you read that correctly NZ$1800.00 EACH If we were to build another TD we would go the Little Guy way, with no hesitation. I like the quality of these doors, they are secure and weather tight and it worked out well for us.

We have the new doors. Little Guy were good to deal with, we were in contact with them by both phone and email. The doors came with all the stainless steel screws (I don't know why you would want to use steel or zinc coated), a roll of seal gunk and infill to cove the screws.

Hi Laurie.
I assume that you have done your order through their on line shop. We started to do ours that way but New Zealand didn't come up as a shipping address option (Australia does), so we ended up phoning them. The only problem with phoning them was the time difference, but if we phoned at breakfast we could catch them about afternoon smoko. But don't contact them on Monday as it is still Sunday there Also email, you could be a day or two getting a reply, same issue.
From the time we placed the order, they were a few days (manufacturing, packaging, whatever?), and then it was up to FEDEX.
They went from Little Guy to FEDEX in Memphis, then were flown via LA, Hawaii, to Auckland. (FEDEX have since started flying direct to Auckland so would probably be quicker now). We then picked them up from the Peter Baker Transport depot in Whangarei. Shipping time was 6 days and they arrived well packed in a solid ply box.
The box now has castors fitter under it, and slides neatly under the work bench housing power tools.

Hi Dale,
Yes they do have a bug screen and it can also be slid up and down. They have double seals on the door and frame, and locks on the handle and dead lock that can also be locked from inside.
We live a Matarau. North west of Kamo, west of Hikurangi. We look out over the swamp toward Hukerenui, and to the west we see Tutamoe Mountain, north of Dargaville.

Sheddie, did your doors come with an interior trim ring?

Hi Laurie,
There was no interior trim ring, but they did include a self adhesive foam seal which we assumed was to trim around the inside to hide any gaps. As our walls are quite thick, they are almost the same as the frame of the doors, I was going to make a thin wood trim to go around it. The cut out was not too bad and with the black frame any gaps are not noticeable.

Frank, thanks for that. I thought they would have had a trim piece to cover the inside.

If you end up with a gap around the edge you could possibly use something like upholstery piping or fender welt.

Have to make a very careful cut on the template.

The lid off the box they shipped them in was an ideal piece of ply to cut the template. Initial cut a bit small, then trimmed for a neat fit. Traced that on to the walls and again cut a bit small then trim to fit. Difficult bit was that the walls were already standing before our doors arrived. Big thing is, just take it slowly.
