Missing Teardrop Camping Already

Postby Vedette » Sat Nov 15, 2014 9:23 am

As we sit here in a "Deep Freeze" this week. in front of the fireplace at home, I think back to all of the Great times we had this past summer Teardrop Camping.
And although it has been less than a month since we were last out camping with our TD friends ......it seem like an eternity?? :(
What "Wonderful Experiences " Sandi and I have had camping with "All" of the new friends we have made since we joined the TD family just two short camping seasons ago! :applause:
We Love you all, and we miss you already! :(
Unfortunately there is still a long winter ahead of us, before we can meet again to enjoy the Great Outdoors and the comradery that comes with sitting around a campfire, circled by our amazing little Teardrop Campers.
Just can't say enough about how "Wonderful" Teardrop Camping has been for us so far!
See you all in the Spring! :wine:

Just the other day I poured a glass of wine and went and took a nap in my trailer out in the garage just because I miss her :wine:

Are you planning on making it to the CRA in 2015 Brian?

So Brian - what about Stacie's question above: are you planning on going to CRA next year (2015)?

For the most part, I don't even use mine until cold weather. During good weather, the wife and kids will go. When it gets cold and nasty, I go myself. Coldest i've ever done was negative 18 degrees. I admit, I went to McDonalds for breakfast instead of warming up anything.

Had to go to the USA this afternoon to pick up ebay purchases for "Kermit", so I did not get time to check out the dates yet. :?
But, the dates just don't work for us for CRA 2015. :(
We would love to see you guys from the east coast again.......but our Farm Gathering (which Sandi & I host) is the week prior and a Rod Run that I have been attending for the past 35 years , is the week after.
By the way, did you ever get a chance to find out the front track width of gen 1 & 2 Miatas? That is mounting face to face for front wheels.

Huh? Park the teardrop? No way, we just look for sites at the lower elevations and keep on camping. You just need to bring extra firewood as the winter nights are certainly longer than those summer nights. We did some camping at Death Valley a couple of thanksgivings ago and the park does not allow campfires out in the back country (away from the campgrounds) and we had some long nights for sure. Glad for the scrabble game.
So my heart goes out to all those in the cooler climates who cannot get out in the winter. I did some snow camping in my youth, cross country skis, tent and no fire. Not interested anymore though.

We'll think fondly of you all and have a smore or two in your honor this weekend as we head out for excursion #2, aka our second weekend "fact finding" camping trip to Oak Flats, AZ. Should be sunny and upper 30's to mid 60's - very, very nice!

I know you all will reciprocate next summer as we scramble for the highest peaks and shadiest trees to escape the Arizona heat :D .

Thanks Shootr
Enjoy your weekend!..........But, be sure to post up a few great photos! 8)
Maybe it will help those of us that are bracing for our first snowfall of the year.
But on the bright side, snow will bring warmer weather than the - double digits we have been experiencing the past 10 days.

Snow and cold just means boat building season is on, and cross country skiing once the snow is deep enough. I don't have time to waste on watching tv, don't even have one.

Kids are always in front of mine, maybe that's one reason I like looking at what people on this foreum are building and particularly like looking at trip pictures. Helps me pine away the winter dreaming of the day I'll be able to see the same country myself.
