Hi everybody
Thanks for allowing me to join.
I am from Christchurch NZ and plan to build a teardrop to tow behind my ford Anglia 105e
Lightness is the name of the game but I want to have a lift up galley

For now I am just perusing your forums, what a wealth of info is on here
(Oh and learning to weld so I can build this from the ground up)

Welcome, if the weight is an issue, you might want to check out the foamie section. When you get started on your build we like lots of pictures!

Hi Mary
Thanks for the suggestion but I think a thin ply inner skin and Aluminium Composite Panels
http://ullrich-aluminium.co.nz/rolled/signboard_composite_panels.php on the outside with polystrene insulation might come in under 600lb
I will make a 7x4'6" trailer.
I have a 4 year old son who comes on adventures with me as well as a 2 year old daughter who will join us soon

I can see them sleeping in the tt while i sleep in a tent in a few years, then it will swap around.

I also take my Anglia on quite a few classic car runs and this will be a great way to sleep on these.

I was thinking of something like this plan for the trailer:
http://www.trailersauce.co.nz/trailer-plans/7-x-4-6-single-axle-trailer/chassis/ without the sides and maybe C section cross beams to save weight.

I will be using 13" wheels like on the anglia

Well Im pretty much settled on a superleggera type trailer
Probably 8x4'6"

I will use Aluclad for the exterior and ply inside.

I will be slowly gathering the resources to build this over our summer, paint the Anglia in March and build the trailer over the winter

Welcome to the Forum!
Sounds like there is a lot of interest in Teardrop Camping in NZ?
There have been a lot of new TnTTT members coming on board from NZ this past year!
With cool cars too!
I have a 1954 100E left hand drive up in the barn.
Bought it for my son 20 years ago for his 15th Birthday.
Put a Capri V6 in it, but never finished it?? Son went off to College, moved to Japan for a couple of years, returned home for another degree, started a family, and now works too much.
Maybe we will finish it someday?? :worship:

Hi felixx
You had better give us a bit more detail on the Anglia. It is good to see you have a date set down for a repaint. I have been wanting to paint my 109e Capri for about 20 years.
And Brian, you had better do something with that 101e, and which Capri v6 have you got in it?

Well I figured out how to speed up my build..
I am selling my two project bikes.
This should raise $1k or more

Wifey was excited when I told her I was selling them
