The Halfdome Teardrop is Finished

Postby halfdome, Danny » Sat May 20, 2006 10:50 am

Except for the window coverings that Jane is working on this teardrop is finished :P . It took me a little over 8 months to complete. We can’t wait to try it out :campfire: . 8) Danny

Great all in one 15" Sylvania LCD/Dvd/CD/MP3 TV. Won't need a stereo or DVD player with this unit.

Danny,

That didn't turn out like a teardrop................heck, it looks like a finely finished home. But what would one expect of a professional such as yourself! Really looks great and will be a fine example for everyone to try to imulate. :applause:
Chris :D

The tension between what is good enough and what is beyond that creates the space for character to become our work.

Yes it did. I was going to make overlay rattle panel doors for the sake of weight but the solid raised panels didn't add more than about 10 lbs. Other than that my first vision is no way near what the end result is. I'm very happy :D with the outcome and Jane is all bubbly :dancing  inside with the look of the galley and cabin, & she deserves it too. We are going to have a great time camping now, no more getting down on the ground in a flimsy dirty tent  . The dirt in Yosemite Valley is almost like laying in Walnut sawdust .

Dan that is a beautifull top notch teardrop. When I do build mine I know it will not be as nice as yours. I'll be wanting to get mine on the road to soon, maybe the second one I could make it as nice as yours, tough competition.

Thanks Chris, DaveL, Victor Star, Riverfront & Danible & Dan.
Chris, the cabin is better than the bedroom in our house. It's been a lot of fun building this tear. I guess now I'll have to make that paint grade raised panel wainscott for our bedroom I've been promising Jane for years. 8) Danny

Danny That is absolutly superb. Your craftsmanship really shows in every detail.
 I am right behind you. My interior is done and I'm finishing up the details in the Galley. Looks like I am going to make the June 1 deadline I set for myself.
