Grant, I am going to consider these on my CT as I go along. There are many possibilities for me with your brackets.

Is that $12.00 for the pair? I'll be ordering right after I get back from Parker.

Grant, I am already thinking I can use your brackets for my CT steps. I do not want to add those manufactured RV steps that take too much of the ground clearance away. But with your setup, I can visualize making a lightweight 2 step system and use your brackets to securely mount the steps to the CT at the camp site. I need to reach up 19 inches and all the purchased home type folding steps just are not too secure for me (means they can move around too much and most likely will leave me flat on the ground).

I will make a sketch and post it for reference. As soon as I can confirm (means prove it will work to me) my design I will order at least one set.

Those are very good. I have a set that is used for a removable table on the CT exterior wall. I don't know how well they would work for a step that would take full body weight though. ???

I added the folding brackets as without them the table top outer edge sagged down more than I liked. Very quick to mount to and remove from the CT wall though. The wood block is secured to the folding bracket and sized to provide just the right thickness.

I thinking of this type of design.

I think I will try it anyway mounted to something else other then the CT. Then I can test my idea. If it does not work, and if the brackets are ok, I can still use them for table mounts. It will not cost that much to test.

And if it does not work, I believe the idea is still sound and there must be other similar brackets out there I can use.

The lower end on the ground would help. If the ground is at the right level, more or less. Need a quick n easy height adjustment foot.

But maybe that is not a big deal.... I was thinking about many of the boondock places we tend to use... uneven ground.

Agreed. I was going to tackle that issue once the concept is proven.
If it works, I want to try and build the lighest set of steps I can. Need to keep the CT load low as possible and I need to be able to man handle it easily enough. I was thinking of making a mock up as if it were aluminum and taking it to an aluminum fabricator.

Yes, Gage ...

... if you are considering the inside piece and outside piece as a "pair" (I call them a "set", but, semantics, right ... :? ...!).

Hope you enjoy Buckskin! As always ...

I have that same bracket on the outside of my TD and it works great. It gives us a small work area that is away from the galley so if we are both working on a dish, we are not bumping into each other.

I don't have a great picture of it but you can see it a bit here. You will notice that ours does not have a leg, but two knee braces that fold down when not in use and the table top/counter sits on the counter of the galley when travelling. A great addition!

I don't think Grant provides a Corgi with the purchase though, or for that matter an over-weight old person.

Shelf

Postby noseoil » Fri Dec 05, 2014 7:40 am

Mikey, here's another shot of your shelf from Flagstaff earlier this year (September '14). Just another angle showing the shelf & its supports. I'm planning on these shelf brackets for my build, one set on each side of the galley for some extra work space. I liked the idea so much from your tear that I had to "borrow" it for my build. Simple, light, sturdy & easy to stow, what's not to like? tim

I have an awning attached to an angled piece of aluminum and I attach the angle to my roof using that same setup. It attaches easily and secures the whole thing very well.
