Wet out West

Postby Redneck Teepee » Fri Dec 19, 2014 7:51 pm

Well it's raining again out here in Ca. and lord knows we need it. We are 150% of normal so far on rainfall, the storms are getting colder and starting to drop snow in the lower to upper elevations of the Sierras where we really need it most to fill the lakes come the spring melt off. The forecast is calling for another storm next Wednesday, let's hope it comes... and it's cold.

This wet year (if it continues) will make for a good camping and fishing season in general, with last years closed areas and campgrounds due to fire or threat of fire... hopefully those will be eased come spring and summer so we can all get out and enjoy our tears and trailers.

:worship: Amen! With gas prices coming down, 2015 should be a good year for both camping and travel! Here in the northern part of the state, we are at 167% of normal, so far, for rainfall.

However, we aren't out of the woods, yet. We have to make up for 3 years of drought and we need to continue to get rain to fill up the reservoirs. ...Fingers crossed that all goes well.

Started raining here in Idaho this afternoon. Very light but will put me out of work for a while. Our drought is not as bad as in California.

Yes but NASA estimates we need 11 TRILLION gallons of water to reverse the effects of the 3-4 years prolonged drought...

Let it rain...Let it rain...Let it rain...Let it rain...

Been a light drizzle here since yesterday. More than 24 hours. Not a lot of water but the kind that soaks into the ground. And your bones.
