"Hoovervilles" is a misnomer for this. The newsreel is about
1930s seasonal trailer travel to FL. Hoovervilles were basically
homeless and unemployed encampments during the early Great
Depression, while Herbert Hoover was still President, especially
in the DC area, where a lot of them went to protest.

I was amused at commentator when talking about housewife listening to radio with switch on "Charging Notch" on ignition swith. Never heard it called anything but asscesary postion. That was an enjoyable film clip. They were the lucky ones that had money for a trailer, car. My Dad lived through the depression and left home at 16 to join Civilian conservaton corp. "CC camp". They basically worked the heck out of them for minimal pay and fed them. My Dad said he sent all but 35 cents home every month to help feed the younger kids. Tough times.
