I borrowed a break and bent up a load of aluminum structural members that I am probably going to need. Some got used for the surround on the storage access door as that large of a cutout left the wall a bit weak. I got it cut out, framed, built the door and got it hinged with the key in it. Also had to jack up the trailer up and drag in the axle and mount it so I could cut the radius on the wheel wells, got them cut and installed. Also skinned the entry door, and replaced the bottom skirt molding. It was fatigued in many places, and the bottom skirt beneath the floor was bent up in many places. 1/8" x 1" aluminum strap really beefed that up. I also fabbed up some saddles to hide the entry points for the tongue in the front of the trailer.
Kevin brought by a vintage 1950's propane horizontal tank yesterday, thanks Kevin! Pulled the valve apart today and replaced an O ring in it...transferred some fuel into it and it seals fine now. I sand blasted and did a bit of sanding on it, but it's going to take a bit of work to get it pretty.
Last fall when the sun was just right on the front of the trailer, I could see the "ghosting" that was left over from the water slide decal that was originally on the front of the trailer. I managed to pencil in a lot of the bits and pieces of it and came up with what I believe is as close to an original logo as possible. big thanks to Jeremy for doing the work on that for me!
I also managed to find the new gasket material for the front tilt out window, it's different than the side windows. Going to get all the glass cut for it this next week and hopefully start putting some of the windows back together. All the frames and pieces are blasted/sanded and are in primer now.
Thanks for reading! Doug
