Hello again, and Happy New Year!

Postby Karebru » Wed Dec 31, 2014 3:56 pm

I registered a couple years ago, posted a few times and got sidetracked, but I’m still thinking about a teardrop build.
I’ve got to do SOMETHING!... Boat camping got too expensive and I’m too old to sleep on the ground.
This still may take a while... My current tow vehicle is on its last leg, but I need an outdoor fix that can only come from kicking back and poking a stick in a campfire.
One quick question… Is a 4ft. wide teardrop do-able for two average size adults, or do you consider 5ft. a must?
Thanks!
I'm not going outside until the temperature is above my age.

With a 4 wide both people have to be willing to sleep against the walls(you can't fall out of bed) So it is almost like a full size bed. Doable but a little cozy.
I use a twin mattress in my 4 wide. It is space equity on the sides leaving a little space to put things. Me and the wife can sleep by the wall no problem with the crack.
If time and budget says 4 wide go for it. That being said, 5 wide gives you a lot more room.

Welcome back.
Definitely go 5" wide.
Not only for the extra cabin space, but the Galley too.
The extra cost is minimal and will be far out weighed by the comfort.
