Motorcycle sidecar TD ??

Hi

I signed up because a friend in BC is on here and I wanted to follow his progress.
Then I got to thinking....I have a sidecar on a motorcycle. Could it be as simple as removing the existing "bucket" and building a TD on the sidecar frame??

I've got to do some looking around and see what I can turn up !

You might check out some motorcycling sites. I can't remember where now but I read an interesting thread by a guy with a goldwing with a fully enclosed sidecar. He had room enough to sleep in the sidecar with the canopy covered with a blanket.
For one person it would be doable, I'm not sure how much of a galley you could have. I would imagine the upper aft edge of the sidecar could open down into a counter with enough room for a jetboil camping stove for coffee, and some space to make sandwiches.
You might look into the foamies section for lightweight build ideas.

It's possible - here's a guy called Jethro with his camper, a massive Busmar Gemini double-adult sidecar:

One thing is that most sidecar chassis will only allow a narrow body to be fitted, so it won;t be a spacious sleeping width. This table of Busmar sidecar bodies shows that the Astral (predecessor to the Gemini) was 94" long but 29" wide, so that's a 26" wide bed inside.

I wonder why you couldn't stretch it over the off side wheel
and gain 3-4 inches?
