Romex is a generic term for house wiring in the U.S. For most house circuits (here) it'd be called 12-2 with a Ground, and has a red (insulated) wire, a white wire and a paper covered copper wire for a ground. The three wires have a plastic sheathing over them. I wouldn't use romex in a camp trailer since it's solid wire (I suspect some do). It'd just be a pain to work with vs. multi-stranded wire.

My point is that in the U.S, running wire next to foam insulation isn't a problem. I tried googling for 12V and foam issues but come up with a thousand ways to make a foam wire cutter.

Excuse me for confusing things. :frightened:

the only things i have on the walls are the two awning lights. Where they are mounted is solid ply and thewires go straight through to the overhead lockers inside. All my 230v is on the galley bulkhead, and the inlet for that is through solid ply.

Ok a bit of a progress report.
Went to vic roads and got a Vin number for my TD and ordered some steel punches on ebay to stamp them into my chassis and my corresponding compliance plate then call them and make an apointment to pick up my number plate and hand in the paperwork.
If it's under 750 kg none even inspects it.
I also went to the caravan show and got some lights, a 10 inch jockey wheel with swing up bracket and a padlock with an inbuilt motion sensor alarm! (That was just too cool to pass up)
Also got 2 stainless steel can aster cookers and some of those fancy new silicone and plastic collapsible bowls.
I'll post some pics when I get some taken and resized
Oh! I also picked my fridge today so I can finish laying out my kitchen went with this. http://www.engelaustralia.com.au/2produ ... ctid=21365

Love the new bits...
I found the exact reading lamp... Does yours have the option for white or soft blue light?
Very nice, all of it.

Those little cookers work well, we have one too. Anaconda, in OZ, had some on sale recently with two burners and a bbq plate.

Yea i can get a 2 burner the same for 44 but I like the idea of two people being able to cook at differnt stations not cramped together.
I may get a double as well.
Filled out all my Rego paperwork and she should be road legal next week if I get the time to go in.
Then off to the powdercoaters

Ok so today I we t outside and looked and looked then made a decision! If I'm going to raise my floor I'm might as well be enough so I disassembled the walls and floor and set about cutting everything apart.
Drastic I know but like I said to tracy if it's 190mm space underneath then increasing it to 235mm isn't going to change the fact that we need steps and more importantly it fits slabs of beer now.
It also is back with my plan of making the underfloor unit sealed and self contained
