Propane Quick Couplers????

I think I have asked tis question before, but obviously did not get a definitive answer.
I was impressed when I first saw these on a Camp Inn that attended our Farm Gathering last summer.
I am currently looking at a CAMCO LP hose kit.
My plan is to have my propane tank mounted in the tongue box, hard lined (or 10' hose kit) to a "Quick Coupler" in the rear of the TD, where I can plug a 6' or 10' hose to my Coleman stove or propane campfire.
I want to here testimonials and specific product info from anyone using a Quick Couple system in their TD.

Don't have a testimonial so don't shoot me.....

First, stay away from "air line" quick disconnects... They are notoriously bad and leak terribly...

Mr Heater has a complete line of hoses and quick-connect/disconnect related for natural gas operation....

As for viability, sure why not, all you have to do is think it through and place connectors in convenient place and basically out of harms way (road hazard)...

Dale is very correct in staying away from air line disconnects, simply not made for the application.

I wanted to install a shower with our trailer and really hated what is available in the US, big, poor quality and cludgey and saw one from Bullfinch in the UK, in the process of ordering I also spotted their external gas point http://bullfinch-gas.co.uk/outdoor-utility-points/gas-point-detail and ordered one along with the shower point. Ours is attached to a 10' hose with a quick disconnect that attaches to our grill. I use the grill at home so there is a shorter hose coming from the regulator on the 20# bottle at home. Each of these hoses was custom made up with the attachments at a local grill/propane supplier.
When we got the trailer it had "black iron" pipe from the front of the tear to the back with a big drop under the axle. I Checked RVIA standards and they allow copper so re plumbed using copper tubing.
Even though the measurement for copper tubing into the Bullfinch is expressed as metric it is a common SAE size so it was not a problem.

I have one of those Bob, on my little Starcraft 8' Meteorite pop-up trailer, for the inside/outside 3-burner cooktop. The 'female' fitting is on the 'delivery' hose & the 'male' fitting is on the stove end. Works great & the locking device on the female end is a comfort...

I have the C3 tank in my tongue box and a rubber hose from there to some copper tubing at the front of the teardrop. The 3/8 copper tubing goes through the floor (run inside a plastic pipe) to the stove connection. The only connection inside the teardrop pod is the stove connection.

I put a tee and a natural gas quick connect at the front of the pod. I can plug in a BBQ or portable fire pit here. In retrospect I think the connection would be handier at the back of the trailer but I would like to avoid any connections inside the pod. As my teardrop pod is separable from the trailer that is an issue but wouldn't be a problem for Kermit.

I used the Natural Gas fittings and hoses for BBQ available at HD, Canadian tire, Walmart etc.
This picture shows the connection at the front, but the tongue box is removed when this was taken. Actually this picture was taken to show how the pod is jacked up off the trailer

I will explore all of them and take them all into consideration before making my decision.

X2 on the shutoff valve at the connector.

This looks like the one I use for my Camp Chef Expedition 3X stove, and it works quite well. You should have a pressure regulator at the tank, as most factory installed RV systems do. You want a low pressure system from as close to the tank as possible. Most devices (grills, stoves, etc.) have a regulator installed at the device for direct connection to a propane tank. If you have the regulator at the tank, you should remove the regulator at the device, or you won't get enough gas to run the device.
