My personal opinion is that it is too tall!
But do you want a standee or a teardrop?
Cool Idea for your 57 Ranchero though.....and in that Rancheros were built off of a Station Wagon platform.
There is that huge rear foot well under the box floor that would be ideal for the storage space you lose by using the box for a fifth wheel hitch.

I have restored a 57 Meteor Ranchero, so I am very familiar with them.
Can't wait to see what you come with.
I build TD's out of cars!

Check out my Album.
Loved the VW truck with the fifth wheel, but it was a little too long???

Thanks for you input Brian. And yes that one is to tall but the right idea. I Know all about Rancheros. The only reason why we have them in the USA is because a Ford designer from Australia came to the USA in 1956. He was the designer of all the Ford Utes down there. If were not for him, we would have never had one or El Caminos (BTW look into Ford Utes, you will be surprised!). I've own 6 1957 Rancheros, one 1957 sedan delivery and a couple of wagons. So I'm very familiar with the unit. I looked at you TD before I joined this site. It is very twisted and cool!!! I'm going to have Boo Photoshop a Ranchero with the 5th wheel teardrop.
It's a great world if you don't weaken!
Boats float and airplanes fly!
If you boat sinks you can swim!
If you airplane falls you can't fly!
