Hello from Missouri

Hi all! I'm new here and in the middle of a teardrop build. We have a buch of snow that has stuck around for a week and exspecting some ice today. Working in mygarage with some heat and dreaming of being riverside this summer!
Im calling my teardrop DandiCamper/Gnome home as I plan to paint a scene of Dandilions and a gnome on a corner if the teardrop. Because gnomes are cute and teardrops are too. See a theme ? Love miniature things. The first time I saw a teardrop trailer I nearly collapsed seriously! Ive been obsessed since.
I love to camp and Kayak the local rivers. Most times with no electric. There are primitive riverside sites along most of our rivers. I plan to use a few LED lights and 2 12V recepticles and a fantastic fan. also wiring for shore power but dont forsee using it a lot. Mainly want it to hold all my camp stuff ready to go. Just throw in food, water and clothes. We cook over fire mostly. Would like faster coffee, convenient prep area and water From a hand pump and somwhere for it to go besides on the ground making mud at your feet .
So thats enough about me. I am working on the galley and trying to design a place for everything at the moment...and driving my hubby crazy.Any tips about galley design or consideration are welcomed!

Hi Kim and welcome to the group. Can you post some pics of your build, there are a lot of people in the group from your area. If you haven't been to a gathering yet you might want to go and see all the trailers take pics and get ideals. Talk to the others about tear drop camping

Yes, Teardrops are cute!
And if you have been lurking here long, I am sure you have seen a number of designs, sizes and shapes.
Remember if you want to be happy sleeping with your husband make sure you are building 5' wide!!!!!
Oh, and the shore line power? Make sure you include it!!! You will find that you use it more than you think.
It is every bit as important as the charge wire from your Tow Vehicle to keep your "Deep Cycle" battery charged while travelling.
We run a small cooler/fridge that draws power all of the time.
A solar panel is also a consideration if you like to camp off of the grid?? Like a good Boy Scout "Be Prepared"!
Hard to add thing after the build.
Now back to your Galley.
1. You will find the sink to be an un necessary lose of counter space and something that requires a lot of extra things for your build (water tank, grey water tank, pump, faucet, etc.)
2. Good Coleman stove that slides out for use on a table attached to the side, back, detached from your teardrop (or picnic table)
3. Good Galley lighting that does not shine in your face.
4. Adequate storage space for cooking utensils, pots, pans, and pantry supplies.
5. Comfortable height working surface (without use of jacks) for roadside stops (36" same as in your kitchen at home)
6. Secure latches and slides that will allow you to travel over rough roads to the river, so that your stuff does not look like it was put in a raffle ticket barrel and shook up!
7. Storage space for a large enough Cooler for your needs.

Thanks for the welcome and ideas. Cant get my pics sized down from my phone and our internet is down after our thundersnow/ sleet and ice storm. As soon as I can Ill get them posted.
I have been trying to find a good place in galley for the lights, 12V recepticle and 110 outlet. Hadn't thought about it shining in my eyes. Thanks The last wires to pull are for the galley. Then Im sure I'll be asking wiring and hatch questions. You all have great info on here. Ill be reading on those topics.
I plan to use the cutout from the door for a side table to put stove on. Water and cooler spots sectioned off today and 2 drawers that tested our patience putting in! Lower cabinets "done".
Ordered a hand pump to bring water up to counter. No sink just a wash pan.
It is a 4x8. Bought trailer before I did my homework! It will work. Im the bedhog so It wouldnt matter how wide it was in my case.

Welcome to the forum. From your post you must be in southeast MO. We're further north close to KC and live in a rural area so I feel your pain about the ice and snow messing up you internet. Funny how tv advertisers and city folk take unlimited internet for granite.

We started in a 4x8 but have graduated to a 6x12 semi standy, nice to stand up to pull your pants up when you get old. Anyway nothing wrong with 4x8 it promotes snuggling , you learn to roll over in tandem and body heat can keep you warm as toast when it gets cold.

The only gathering I've heard of here this spring is at Crawford state park over in KS and is pretty full already but you might squeeze in.http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=61638 there will be some tears there for you to look at if you want to just check some out and we love to show them off.

Gary I am about midway between St. Louis and Springfield MO. Ozark National Scenic Riverways. There needs to be a campout around here sometime. It is beautiful here if I dont say do myself 6 or 7 rivers several lakes....
I have two RV windows. Been trying to decide if I will use one on Driver side. I hate to spend money on another door. I know I'll likely wish I had one later. So here I sit with 2 windows Ive not used and wondering if I should blow the budget a little more and buy another door I have a feeling budget and teardrop dont go together Have stuff finish before I have to make a decision...
Going to look around at some of the build journal for inspiration then continue with the hatch.
