The misses and I live in the woods and enjoy traveling to more woods. Actually it has
taken a few years to talk her into a cargo conversion. Friday we will be locking in a 2016
Aluma AE612 and putting our trusty popup for sale. I have gleaned an incredible amount
of info on making our mobile retirement hut all it should be. I thank everyone.

Welcome from a fellow NE Wisconsonite! You will find the folks on this site are a tremendous help. Start a build thread and post plenty of pictures :pictures:

Welcome from two central Wisconsinites! Bob and I travel the back roads of southwestern Wisconsin and the Mississippi River Valley, staying in the state parks located there (Gov. Dewey, Wyalusing, Gov. Dodge, Perrot, etc.). Going to try to make it out to your neck of the woods this summer. Maybe we'll see you on the teardrop trail some day.

By the way, there's a dandy "Cooler Near the Lake" teardrop gathering the last weekend of April, Kohler-Andrea State Park, south of Sheboygan. Great folks, good food, fun times! Lots of different styles, makes, models of teardrops, manufactured and homebuilt. Check it out in the Midwest campout/gathering section. Come on down! :)

Vedette: We have ~6" of snow on the ground. We do winter camp, usually 20 or 3 times per winter. Usually some snowshoeing
and cross country skiing. The dealer stated 10 to 12 wks for construction. Then I will install just the basics, so it will be usable
as soon as possible.

Welcome from Wyoming! Sounds like a great undertaking which will get used a lot. I always wondered how pop-ups did in humid areas, sounds like yours did well for years. Can't wait to see your conversion.

39RatRod: Over the years, it boiled down to two issues. Setup/tear down time (~45 min) and rain on the canvas. We are
light sleeps, hard rain = no sleep.

On a side note, are their any homebrewers here? I'm wrangling with what I will use to keep the homebrew cool (45-55)
in a 6x12? The misses already let me know, I will not be taking all the room in the FOOD frig.

Hi there SalsaDog ... Welcome to the site from a neighboring Central Minnesotan ...
:shake hands:

Good luck with the build and be sure to add picks of the build ...
:pictures:

A couple of thoughts ... put the brew and sodas in a different cooler, it will help keep the food colder also ...

I had a 6x10 cargo built a couple years ago and talked to the builder about adding electric wiring and roof & wall insulation ... it turned out great and actually cost less for him to do the insulation than for me to do it later and I am still doing my own wiring ... it keeps it cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter, and helps silence the rain ... anyway, something to think about ...
Happy Camping & Building,
John (JC)
