Grease gun is attached at top and sends grease down tube into middle of bearing then workes it's way out Thru bearings.

less messy.

I am putting the grease in putting themin plastic bag untill I get them all doen and then slide them on the axle.

Won't that take all the fun out of repacking the wheel Bearings? You know--greasy hands, t-shirt,jeans,boots workshop floor covered in grease. Not to mention the clean up afterwards. Dunno Ron, I may just have to buy one of them

I've always thought they were a great idea. Never bought one because I'd need another grease gun, use more grease, have another messy item to store which would get used once per year. And I assume the hole in the middle of the bearing gets filled with grease and has to be cleaned out... thank goodness for bounty paper towels.

Having said that, now I may. I'm getting into repacking all my bearings once per year on all trailers... I have one bearing with some pitting (rust) in it, so will be keeping close track of that one (on my utility trailer)....

You don't need a grease gun. Just put it on the ground and stand on it. (that pushing it down with your hand doesn't work very well.)

BUT, I use it in conjunction with Bearing Buddies. I like Bearing Buddies, as long as you don't go crazy with using them, and use them properly. I totally repack my bearings every 2 years. And in the off years I use the Bearing Buddies. 2 shots a wheel in March and 2 in August.

I've heard of some folks using BB and juicing them every time they use the trailer...EEEWWWW.

I've even seen some people use BB with BRAKES...WWHHHEEE.

I have one of those too. ( I own Vw's... and now, a trailer. ) You can make a huge mess with them.

I'm thinking of buying a REALY nice Snap-on one. Costs as much as my trailer or my little racecar. I think it will save so much time and headaches.

I have zerk fittings in the axle and it's lots of fun to blow out the wheel seals with a presure grease gun.
