Today I made more progress on the insulation. I also figured out where I can mount the Window AC without cutting any beams! Up in the front V, one of the gaps is 20" wide, with two steel tubes on either side (not z-post like the sides of the trailer). The Window AC is only 18" wide, so I think I will put it up there. In the first picture below, you can see the 20" wide section.

I spray foamed the cracks that were in the front V, which seems to be a pretty common occurence in enclosed trailers. There are some spots in near the rear which I will do eventually too.

I insulated the left front V, and got a few ceiling panels done

I will be putting the white FRP boards up on the ceiling when I'm done. The thin ones are very light.

I hung a few of the wall panels back up with just a few screws to get them out of the way.

Also, I closed the rear and side door (the rear wasn't fully closed), and my ceramic heater made it kind of pleasant in there! It was 20 degrees out, and it seemed like every panel I added it went up another degree or two, until it made it to 50, then I was done for the day
Image

I put the cabinet where it will be in the end temporarily, so you can kind of see my plan looking more like the drawings.

And I wired up my 7 pin trailer harness. All that's left now is to hook the brake controller up and connect the battery.

Rocky,
I asked my salesman what bit- he said square. I tried all of mine none worked. After a lot of searching for a different bit, I went to RV dealer. He said square bit and had an example to show. So I went and bought new square bits yep they worked. So I learned you can't use rounded off square bits. All mine were bad from tearing down travel trailers. Another lesson of life.

Haha, I bought some myself only to find I already owned some. Guess one can never have too many bits.

I got the PD4045 in the mail today! I've read up as much as I can on this forum, and I feel fairly confident I can eventually figure it out, but I will probably need some help still ha. The plan is 3 110AC outlets (2 will be GFCI, third will be downstream from one of the GFCI), 4 LED Dome Lights, and the 12v Water Pump. The LED Lights will be on Rocker Switches.

I also picked up:
-12-2 Romex x 50 feet, on sale for $19.99
-Deep Cycle battery (70Amp hours, which will be plently for my LED lights) $79
-Battery box $8

Rocky,

I just put my 2nd in.......learned some things......

Re 120 -
On the far left slot, put a 30-amp single breaker
the remaining slots (3) can be done with split breakers (15-20 amp), this gives you a total of 6 separate circuits (5 if you use the on-board battery charger)
If you want the on-board battery charger to work, you'll need to run a wire (black) to the far right strip (I failed to do this on my first one, lesson learned)

Re 12v
the top 2 red slots are for higher amps
I used the bottom slots (black, lower amps) for my LED lights and vent fans

I thoroughly enjoy mine, in 2 different trailers........

Thanks that helps a lot!

For 120, definitely the 30amp, then two separate circuits for the remaining slots. One will be on the left side that the 5000btu AC or 1500w heater will plug into, and the second circuit will be on the right side, which my tire warmers will plug into (those draw 950W according to the Watt Meter I used).

None of my appliances are 20amp plugs, so will 15amp circuits be good? Would I see any benefit to using 20amp circuits?

And thanks for clearing up the different DC lines. Sounds like the blacks will fit my needs.

For the DC, should I run 2 lights off of one circuit and 2 lights off the other, with a common ground running back for each? I was looking to have 2 switches near the door, one would control the front two lights, and one would do the rear two lights.

Your decision on the DC side will be based on amp-draw.......it all depends on how much amperage your "equipment" (lights, fans, misc) draws. Remember that the fuse is meant to protect your wiring (electrical fires SUCK). I run on the conservative side, so all of my circuits are limited to ⅔-3/4 of the wire rating. My fuses also reflect that. So the 20-amp rating of the black wires have no more than a 15-amp fuse. There are 10 available circuits (20-amp), so it's up to you how you split them. I split mine out to - 1) side lights and 2) bow/stern lights........just my preference though......check out my build here http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=61594

Okay thanks. My 4 LED lights only draw 150mA each, so nothing huge.

I ordered latching cable raceway today from this site: http://www.electriduct.com/1125-Latching-Raceways.html

I accidentally ordered the small size, so I had them cancel and order the larger size. It cost a little more, but it should fit any wires. $125+shipping. But it looks nice and should be easy to work with. I am running the AC and DC through separate channels.

This is the unit I installed. Super simple to install. I had them include a 30 amp breaker so I could use it determine which 15 amp breakers to purchase. I also used LED lights and a small water pump, not a lot of 12 volt amp needs, so 14 gauge on all these 12 volt items. I added a 1500 watt inverter with a remote switch, and just wired inline to my battery from the power panel with 6 gauge wire. This is probably a lot bigger wire than I needed, but the inverter will need to run the coffee pot when I switch that AC plug to inverter power from shore power, and I don't want a fire...as others have noted. It was a short run, so the wire was cheap. 14 gauge on AC circuits, except for AC, which is 12 gauge. Not planning on AC, but wanted to wire just in case.

Water tanks came today. Two 10 gallon. Water will mainly be used for washing hands/face.

They will fit in the 60"wide cabinet I bought, and I will set it up similar to Pvangel's Toy hauler build, except I will have a gray tank instead of dumping to the ground:

where did you get the water tank, and what was the cost. I am using a 5 gallon water jug currently, as I had not found a tank at a reasonable price.

I got them from ebay, $36 each, free shipping.

They come from Elkhart, Indiana, which seems to be where every trailer in the US is made haha.

I guess that is a good deal. The site I was looking at was for $26, but then the shipping cost is $21 making a $47 total. Good find. You have to shop around for these things.
