Uh Oh, I just looked on the PayPal page and it shows that the payment went thru.

Rocky,
Nanny was wrong...
I did stop the PayPal deal a couple of months back, because of security concerns. (I was getting hammered by bogus payPal crap)
I changed my security stuff and so far, haven't had any problems.
The PayPal option is on again and your payment has been completed. I've recieved two more since yours too...

There's a small store a short distance from the grove, a larger one in Hydesville maybe 8 miles west and Fortuna is (I'm guessing) 15 miles with plenty of shopping.

Supplies

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Thu May 25, 2006 6:36 pm

8) IRG attendees,

:) Keep in mind that the store closest to Pamplin Grove is very small (Mom & Pop style) and has a minimal amount of supplies. Many that they carry are for the people who might camp nearby at Swimmer's Delight & PG. They do carry ice and have bottled water available regularly. Hydesville store is a bit larger and carries some hardware items. Fortuna, approximately 15-20 minutes away, has the biggest selection of stores such as Safeway, Ray's Supermarket, etc. Check out the TravelBlog on Nanny's Niche for a detailed ride along the Hwy 101 corridor for where to go and stop.

Well...
I'm givin' a plug for Martin & Shirley's!!!
Their store is so close, you could walk to it from Pamplin.
They got just about anything you'll probably need.
Shirley is a very nice lady and will be happy to share the history of that little store when you pop in for an ice cream bar or whatever... (It was named after her when she was a little girl)

BTW- TDN, myself and my daughter had Pamplin Grove all to ourselves last night. (My son was ill, so he stayed behind)
TDN had rented it for her class yesterday, so we made good use of the situation and spent the night.
I made the girls a DO pizza for supper and between TDN's notes and my scribblings... I should have a "map" of the place in a few days.
I'll post it on the Maps page on the gathering's website.

I posted a jpeg image on the website for faster loading... unfortunately, lower quality.

I see a road in the lwr group area. Are there any trees there? Have you got any pictures posted of the camp area? Are they on the other web page? I guess I could go and look.

Have a good day.

Gage,
Yes... There are trees in there.
About the only place there isn't trees, is in the meadow and on the river bar...
There's really not a "road" once you get inside the lower group area... We'll just have to keep an isle clear in the middle of that area for comers and goers.
Here are a few shots from an earlier thread...

What is this? Looks like a dirt road to me. Are they trying to trick us?
