It was insured and the tow vehicle was miraculous unscathed from outward appearance. The safety chains snapped at the tongue along with the hitch receiver which twisted off the tongue. Had they not snapped it could have been much worse. The force spun the truck around and into the ditch off the left side of interstate.

It rolled it like a tin can. One solar panel survived. The batteries were strapped and bolted and remained attached to floor. Everything else is pretty much a loss.

I'm taking the truck to have a frame inspection next week just to make sure there was no damage underneath.

abqlloyd, Howdy;

Dang, hate to hear about things like that from happening...
Glad everyone came through it in good condition (?).
That's what ya get for goin' to Texas with nasty winter weather.
They have the idea that if God put it there then he'll get rid of it
when he's ready. At least that's been my experience.

Dang that's bad!

So sorry to hear that, but glad that you came out of it okay. I hope insurance pays for some of your additions to the trailer, but even with lots of receipts it won't cover the work you put into it.

Dang....I just realized that your build was one that I enjoyed very much. I watched your posts closely. Since you did not get hurt and all settles down, I do hope you soon build and post again.

I may go with a 7' replacement trailer with inset wheels like an RV. Sure would make it easier.

That's really all that matters, Don. The rest is just paperwork.

Did somebody have a trailer built with the paneling on the outside? I seem to remember reading it.

Woah, just saw this. Glad you are unhurt. That must have been a helluva ride. On to bigger and better trailers, eh.

I do. And I believe the only other trailer on this site with it is Jerry's under the OTTCT posts. They are biult by Car Mate. Our CT's were built that way by request. So I am wondering if other manufacturers will do the same.
