New from SW AZ

Postby Coyotewash » Fri Jan 30, 2015 10:23 pm

Hello!
I'm Dave from the Yuma, AZ. area. (my wife is Jane) I'm interested in building a modified teardrop. I have a 5 x 12 utility trailer that I no longer need for its original purpose. So, I have cut off the rails, added 5" to the sides and will use it as a platform for my teardrop. If I had not read about all the people who have built their own travel trailers I probably would not have even thought about building my own. This site has given me the courage to undertake this enterprise. When it is complete we will hit the road once again and meet up with some of you experienced builders. We took a six year hiatus from travelling to build our home, but we still have the itch to move on. I'm taking pictures, but as of now I have no idea how to post them. Something to learn.

Welcome Dave & Jane
Yes, there is a lot of valuable building information here on the Forum, once you learn to navigate the site.
And the open road will never be the same once you start TD camping!
It is amazing! ;)
We have not seen you posting since your initial introduction?? :(

Thanks for the comment. I'm still learning the ropes. Sent you a private message since I use to live where you are now.

I'm still learning things about the forum. For example, I haven't figured out how to explain what my photos are showing. Anyway, thanks for your comments. I will try to keep up a little better. I have lots of photos of my build, but I need to know how to explain them first.

Hi Dave & Jane,
I really like opening a personal photo gallery (Check out my Gallery (link just below my closing))...

There are some great instructions on setting up your own Gallery here:

viewforum.php?f=26

There are 2 great threads on the page ...

1-- Creating a Personal Gallery and uploading pics
2-- Posting pictures from your gallery has changed slightly...

Take a few minutes to read these and it is very easy, heck, if an old fat man like me can figure it out ... anyone can!

One thing I found important was ensuring the pic or file met the size requirements...

If you want to post on the thread, start your text and scroll down the page and just below the boxes to -Save Draft -- Preview -- Submit, you will see a box entitled Upload Attachments

Just select and identify your file to upload and where it is located on your computer --- even easier than setting the Avatar...
;)

P.S.
Read and commented on the PM ....
Good luck
Happy Camping & Building,
John (JC)
