Bring back the Lithium Battery thread

Postby Deediggler » Mon Mar 09, 2015 10:49 pm

:x

Can the Mods just bring that thread back? So much useful information in there, it's a shame to delete it. Sigh....

So start a new one, ask questions like in any other subject area. It will grow from there. LFP are viable batteries although expensive and with their own set of good and bad points. And just like we have TD's vs. CTC's vs. whatever, they are not the sole answer to everybody's needs at present. There are many good things about LFP but the initial out of pocket $$ is the main stumbling block for most folks, as I see things. And then there are little things; if you have a built TD and placed the FLA battery up front to counterbalance the weight at the rear, you just lost some of the counterbalance weight. So even the lower weight of LFP can be an issue for some of us. Some re-design and renovation may be necessary. I think things like that is a discussion point; may not apply to everyone, may not make it or break it for anyone. Not right, not wrong. Simple discussion.

LFP batteries do seem to bring out high passions in some people. On another forum that covers solar and wind energy topics, a new member there was recently banned because of how he expressed some of his opinions on the subject of LFP. Just thought I'd mention that what we had occur here was not a complete anomaly.

Howdy All;

I can understand the locking of a thread but disappearing it ?????
Agree, lots of good info mixed in with the trashy stuff. But, I reckon that
some just don't want to leave untidy things (threads), out where new folks
might see them...

Speaking only as an admin on a different forum, and voicing only my own opinion, sometimes it is simply not worth the time it takes to edit. No admin I know likes to leave a topic with whatever acrimony it may contain. Removing the offending posts can leave future readers with a jumble that makes little sense. Taking time to edit things into coherence is asking a lot of volunteers. It is an easy enough thing to start a new thread with a question or two. Why not trythat approach?

And am I not correct in saying that the original owner of that thread himself asked for it to be taken down.
