Have been an avid camper for all of my life (45 years). Grew up camping, and still love to camp. Have been primarily tent camping for the last 25 years. Getting too old to sleep on the ground. Camp an average of 15 nights a year.
Went to local RV show last month and almost pulled the trigger on a 16ft. trailer. Couldn't get past storage issue, and $10,000 cost. Saw a few TTD's at the show that peaked my interest but were in the $10,000 price range.
4 weeks later………..I have a $2000 budget approved by the wife, I have become FFTCO (Full Fledged Teardrop Compulsive Obsessed). Cant wait for my first build, having trouble sleeping at night (thinking about wall thicknesses, roofing materials and 12 volt wiring schematics). Spending way too much time on-line researching.
5 x 8, Modified Benroy design (greater rear slope, and front bend), Woody sides, canvas roof, original trailer wiring.
5 x 8 NT trailer on its way, plans drawn up, parts/materials list almost complete, parts suppliers lined up. Warmer weather, Garage work space cleared and ready.
