This cap piece was off to the sandblasters a couple of days later.
And the leftovers were cut up and sent to the scrap metal recycle depot.

This is the area under the front package tray, that will house the converter, stereo, 12V Fuse panel, drawer for laptop computer, and the boxes for the AC plugs (one for converter, one for cabin, one for ceramic heater, and one for trunk area plug. Also two 12v receptacles =cabin & trunk) 129638129637129639
This was easier to do now before I install the 38 Dodge body section to the front. Have had it on and of 50 times!

What is next?129634
This is the engine access door off a 1973 VW Vanagon that we also dragged down from out back while Ted was visiting (Can't just have Farm Guests sitting around while here  )
This will be used for the bottom of the tongue box trunk lid.....I liked the latch? And the lid was only 1" wider than the 38 Dodge lid it will be welded too (easy to narrow and will save a ton of work).

Time to round the trunk lid (Galley Hatch) corners so that I don't get a V shaped scare in my forehead while showing off the Galley at Gatherings while drinking wine. :wine: 129653129652
I just can't seem to leave anything stock!!!

More welding!129656
Remember all sheet metal repair welds require some serious grinding before they can be Duraglassed and body filled to make them disappear???
The above repair still has to have the rounded corners installed to accommodate the trunk corners.

Hi Frank
Yes, I have seen these V8 Conversion kits before.....but they also made one for the US Ford flathead six motor ( we didn't have them in Canada, only the V8) which I think was much prettier! I am getting tired (it has been a long day) so the name of these kits ecapes me at the moment??
Brian
PS
My 51 8N is named "Dixie" she does a lot of the heavy lifting for us.
"Johnny" does the real heavy stuff.

Made cuts in the body and a new mounting flange for the new 1947 Pontiac Convertible rear fenders129654129655129659
They are a different profile, plus 6" longer than the 1947 Chev fenders........but way prettier!

This part of the body will be reworked to make the transition smooth!
And the gas filler door will also be filled. ;)

The tractor sure looked sweet, the guy had a matching pair.
Just found them on Google, the v8 and il6.
Re the skirts, stick a profile photo on for us to look at, then you can go back to welding.
