Chucklehead....having a roof rack....I would definately use some glass tape on the joints on the roofline, extra weight up top will want to work on the side/roof joint...after the epoxy has cured on the tape..you can sand/grind off any of the high spots and coat out with more epoxy...for me...I only use cloth on the hull of a boat, on a tear, and we've had this discussion on the forum before, my preference is just epoxy directly on the wood...when applied correctly, it'll sand out and you can paint it with a finish like a car if you want..It does take several coats of epoxy with sanding between coats, and it does need to be painted or clear coated for UV protection...I've got 6 years on 1 boat, no maintenance, 2 years on another boat, no maintenance, and 1 year on a tear with no maintenance...all in mohogany finished "bright" Doug
