If the truth was to be known.......it is probably easier than building out of wood?? :NC
Or it is for me anyway!
I am in awe of those guys with great woodworking skills, as I know how much time it takes (my Dad was one!)guess that is why I got into cars? He didn't know a Carb from a Generator and I got him to build anything I needed out of wood. ;)
BUT......did not have a productive day today!
Way too much other drama going on here today. :(
We were trying to assemble a 1947 International KB5 In the shop, and Sandi was trying to finish up my bookkeeping for tax time, thus I was being pulled back and forth like a tug-a-war rope.
And now? the wine, cheese, supper, the couch, and Sandi are all looking rather good to me.

My stomach clenched when you showed the VW engine lid. What does the rest of the bus look like?

I thought it was pretty good! So I rescued it !
But, after two years of trying to find it a good home........I cut it up!
A friend who is a VW fanatic took it for $100.00............hated having to pay that much to get it of the property??? :R
Originally thought it would make just a great Teardrop trailer to tow behind another VW Van?????
But I did get all of the latches and the latch section of the doors, engine cover lid, and the hatch latch!

Got back to welding yesterday.
Built all of the structure (skeleton) for the 9 1/4" deep under floor storage compartment that is 65" long and 58" wide. ;)
Sandi is in love with it.
Will skin the floor very last, as it is nice to work inside with no floors.
Moving back to the kitchen today.
Finally going to order my axle this Monday.

Sounds like you're plugging away nicely. I presume access to the storage will be via floor hatches rather than outside access ?
I can't think of how you'd get external hatches to blend in but, if anyone could do it I'm sure you could.
Now that I'm back home I guess I'd better go make some sawdust myself.

Hi Sharon
You may have to come further north if you want to see Kermit this year?
Hey.....why don't you come up to the Farm?
We are sure you will love the trip, the farm, the Okanagan Valley, and good friends that will be here! ;) ;)
See you at the Dam with Miss Piggy in tow.

I recently returned from a trip to Hawaii where I had the occasion to met a couple from your neck of the woods, Brian. Thanks to knowing you, I could converse at length with them about the O Valley region where they lived. No, I do not remember their names, but they were quite surprised that I knew so much about the area. And it is truly a beautiful valley you live in. I told them to keep a look out for Miss Piggy and soon coming, Mr. Kermit.
Just thought you'd like to know in case your ears were burning badly ....... :SG

 Things are so dry here that I have a hunch that Californians are going to be staying close to home in July and August. Going into our 4th year of now unprecedented drought, it could be a really bad fire season. :NC
