Noob from Idaho

Postby IDyeti » Wed Apr 08, 2015 5:34 pm

New guy here from Idaho, originally Colorado. I own a 2006 Nissan Xterra that's been modified a bit for mild wheeling, not the best tow vehicle but its a great camping vehicle. Currently tent camping is going to the way side due to my wife's health but we/she still loves the outdoors. This is where the teardrop plan enters. I am looking to build an offroad orientated teardrop as I like to go where there's no one around, hence the move to Idaho. Hope to keep the same tire size as my Xterra and wheels for that matching look, but have some initial concerns over galley height and layout.

Glad this forum is around, just soaking up knowledge and getting ideas. Hope to start a build later this year and get it on the road in 2016.

Hello!

I like pictures so here's some of mine:

Teardrop trailers are ideal for either off of the grid camping or camping social groups at "Gatherings".
Good Luck with which ever type of TD you build or buy??

Welcome to the forum. I have lived in North Idaho for 31 years. I have had my TD for 12 years. Oddly enough, I have also been doing Dutch oven cooking for 12 years. Connection? I think so. :D

I hope you pick up a lot of good tips here. If you are in to outdoor cooking, there is also a cookbook here.

Me too! Boise? Yech. Make sure you put a Fantastic Fan in for those hot summer nights over there.

Mike: How's that ol' Hunter doing? I bought one back in 2004. Loved it... and then ran into a 5-wide and two weeks later I was ordering hardware. I do miss the ol' 4-wide for the few solo trips I do, but a a foot is a mile.
