:applause: Well, went back to my hardware store and told them about the possiable error that one of the girls had made, and sure enough she had. So I paid the difference and I felt alot better. I don't like to be cheated anymore than the next person.
So, now I can enjoy this holiday a little better.

Jim,

Jim,

I do my best to follow the Golden Rule.
I'm happy to hear that you do too. :applause:

No matter if anyone "knows" or if someone gets in trouble, or doesn't.
Right is right, and doing wrong intentionally is not.

Way to go Jim. I think we all need reminding from time to time on how to behave. :applause:

They may have been embarrassed but I'm sure they were thankful and will look upon you differently on your next visit. Good Man. :applause:

Hi Jim,

My hat's off to you! The other day I bought bagels and cream cheese. When I walked away and looked at the receipt I noticed that she had not charged me for the cream cheese. She was very surprised when I came back to pay for the cream cheese. Joke was on me though, the cream cheese was free with 6 bagels.

Good job!

Wow

Thanks for passing that along, Jim. Another ray of hope. I think I will print these 2 threads and let my kids read them. A short lesson in simple honesty.

Thanks guys for all the nice kodo's. My dad and mom would have rolled over in their graves if I had not gone back.
Now for the rest of the story. My new sweetheart was proud also and we went out and bought a new Lazy-Boy recliner and a new couch for the house and a whole lot of kisses . . . .

Jim...as a small business owner, THANK YOU!!!!....It's really refreshing to find honesty like this..sometimes despite all the bar codes on the products, and computers and lack of knowledge by employees, mistakes happen, and it all adds up for a small business...when that happens, and it has several times in my store...I always express my gratitude to the customer for letting me know...I also give a card for a one time discount on a future purchase, which 9 times out of 10 gets declined, but I do make sure they get premium service next time...I feel better about them and I know that they feel better about themselves...I know I do....integrity is a big part of life....I'd be willing to bet that your word and a handshake is good as gold too!!!
