BTW, know a few people in the car enthusiast scene made "custom hold downs" for their (sometimes relocated) batteries and had the strap "rot" and the battery come loose, often inside a year, we think it's vicinity to acid/battery fumes. They are actually disallowed for that purpose by several motorsport licensing bodies.

Just a headsup, don't want you losing your batteries going down the road.

Another coat of polyurethane, how many coats does it take to have it thick? are you just suppose to pour it on and let it settle or lots of thin coats? i want it thick like you see at some restaurants.

Restaurant tables are often done with a 'bar top epoxy' for a thick durable finish.

You can also fill voids in the timber with shells of objects of interest and epoxy over it for a cool look
