Hello all. Long time reader and first time poster.

I got a new 2014 Pace 6x12' last year and haven't had the time to touch it. So I'm really excited to finally be starting on this project.





I got the RV door and the 6'6'' height model. I had a leak caused by a bad door seal so I had to have some warranty work done. I have stained the ramp door and did the axel flip kit.

My first real projects are as below with some questions. Thanks and it's been great watching your builds come along, excited to get mine going.

1. Fantastic Fan. I'm about to order one and noticed they have "Retail" and "OEM" versions (http://www.fantasticvent.com/fan-tastic ... -fans.html and http://www.fantasticvent.com/fan-tastic ... -fans.html) Since this is going into a new construction does it matter? I'm just looking for the basic 3 speed reversible one, nothing fancy.

2. I would like to put a window in the door. What does everyone think of Edwin windows? (http://easyrvwindows.com/rv-entry-door.html) Worth the price?

3. Wiring. Need to map out all my wiring and start ordering my fuse block and figure out how I want to wire everything. I'm doing to keep everything DC with the except of one inverter.

As you probably gathered from the posts here, you should have a great time with your project.

I did not look at all the specs for each OEM vs. Retail fan, I can only assume that they are the same per se. I would search the internet, find the one that has the features you want at a price you like and go with it.

My trailer door came with a window, so I did not have to add one. The one you listed looks pretty straight forward and should work for you. My caution would be to get comfortable with whether there are ribs or something in the area you want to add it. My first instinct is to see if I could open it up, look at the construction and add the ribs or reinforcement you need. I think mine is foam filled.

Thanks everyone. I figured out the Fantastic Fan model I wanted and went with the 2251 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IKMC6M0) the old model number for it was 4000R. Their model numbers are confusing, changed and a lot of online vendors don't list the correct model. So we will see what I get ha, which is why I got it through Amazon. I'm gonna read through a bunch of the new build threads on here before I ask more questions as I think a lot of them have been answered already.

Update 5/2/15:

Just got the Fantastic Fan frame built and the fan in. Going to waterproof and screw it down today. Here's a lot of photos since you asked. Thanks to my brother for laying out the frame, welding and use of his shop. It's so much easier than the driveway!
















Next up is insulation and wiring. I have a PD4045 coming next week.

Boy do I sure do envey you and that door height. To bring one's trailer inside to work on is to die for. (well, maybe not that drastic, but it is great!)

Got most the insulation done. Thanks to all the threads I was able to answer all my questions by searching.
