Hi folks

I am based in Johannesburg in South Africa. I am privileged to make my living in the camping industry. We kit camping trailers with all the comforts of home including our own trailer top tent.
besides the canvas factory I have a full metal and wood workshop to play in.
Browsing through this forum I can just see there is a lot of ingenuity and problem solvers that I can learn from.

What landed me on this forum is a small problem in building light and space efficient. I am in the process of designing and building a small camping trailer that has to be light enough to be towed behind a Suzuki Jimny. Max all up weight to be no more than 550 kg or x 2.2 to get 1210 lb. It sounds easy but before I can blink my eyes I am over 150kg just on suspension and chassis. I forgot to mention it would need to be a 4x4 trailer. Anyhow I have a lot of reading to do before I can start asking questions

You have a very tall order. One of the websites that influenced my decisions was [urlhttp://www.kimberleykaravans.com/][/url] and our tear has an all aluminum frame. Their website also outlines the suspension.

That goal is quite possible and has been done a couple of different ways. The biggest
difficulty is weighing every item you add to the build for its size and the relative
necessity of its inclusion. Weight can get away from you and build quickly.
