Hey guys - sorry to be pushy but does anyone have any advice regarding what I posted about the aluminium trim and the stress fractures in it (see above). Be great to get some feedback if you have any.

Could it be a clear coat on there that is cracking? Maybe sand a section off and see if it still cracks.

Hi and thanks for your reply. Nope it is not a coating. I have had a go at polishing the cracks out and they don't come out - it is definitely the metal that is very finely fractured.

Hi there I love your idea for the dollies so that you can move your tear from side to side to give you more room. It has solved my space problem as my garage is on the small side and I need to do some repair work on my tear. Are you still in the land of the livin' . How did you get on bending the aluminium trim - I have the same stuff and will hit that problem soon too

As far as I recall once certain alloy of aluminum is annealed, it will re-harden after some time. I think it is called aging, but i could be wrong. It should be annealed again before bending to make it softer and avoid cracking or stretches you had.
