Howdy Everyone, Again, mucho thanks to Mr. Sam (DesertMoose) for sorting our hatch issues and here is his final solution as promised. It works perfectly for my long heavy hatch.

Just a little update. We needed a handle inside the hatch to help close it once opened. I ended up using a small black leather belt and two of the molding covers. I mounted it on the other side from the exterior handle.


Here is a view of the new handle between our LED lights.

Hi Bscnave, Holy Cow, How did I miss thanking Mr. Dan Lott for graciously giving us the awesome paper towel holder on this thread! Sorry about that Dan...THANK YOU AGAIN KIND SIR!!! I think Dan found a couple of them on Ebay for his build. I've never seen them before or since; I hope you can find them.

Dave, I hope you're all right with 'Atma Clones' becoming a thing. Because I'm also looking at what you've done and thinking there is very, very little that I would do differently if I were standing in your shoes.

And since I'm in my own significantly-less-capable (and probably significantly poorer) shoes, the 'Atma Clone' I have in mind probably won't have the fit and finish you were able to achieve. But if you're bothered by less-skilled imitators, please stop me now before I get rolling.

I've got the plans at about 60% done at this time. It looks like finishing them will be a winter project at this point.
