4x8 Harbor Freight Build

Postby DrewWalden » Sat May 23, 2015 6:41 am

I am already a good way into the build and thought it was time to start sharing. I am doing a 4x8 teardrop with a harbor freight trailer. I am following the guidelines laid out by TeardropDIY.com
I am currently wiring the trailer, which has become a source of frustration. That being said, there is no turning back now, I've already got 2 grand into the project! I was hoping to stay below 2k, but now i'm hoping to stay under $2500. My wife and I have decided to take a road trip around the country in August and we needed a better shelter than our backpacking tent because we now have a 6 month old baby girl with us.

Here you can see the completed HF trailer. I decided to paint it black, I think it looks a lot better with aluminum siding. You can also see that the floor frame is built, and I am in the processes of attaching the floor to the 2x2 frame.

Edit* I can't figure out how to embed the image and size it properly. Any tips?

Welcome to the forums and good luck with your build.

Under the pull down menu "Forum Problems" select "Help With Photos".

Since I take so many pictures of my build most every day, I set my camera on a smaller size and don't ever have to worry about resizing pictures, although that can be done with image resizer apps. (Just be sure to change the camera back if you want to take higher quality pics of your family or vacation, etc.)

Hey Drew, Nice to see you well on your way. I take pictures with my iphone 5. I take the picture. Open the picture up in my photos on my phone. On the bottom left corner there is an icon that has a menu that says email in it. I email it to myself. I hit send. It then says "this email has no message do you want to send it anyway". I click yes. Then it gives me choices for the size of the file.(This is the important part) I select Medium. And at that point it emails it to me. I open it up onto my desktop. In the forum here, click upload attachment, choose file and then place inline.
I'm sure there is a better way but that is how I do it.
