Howdy Folks!

Postby gmc » Sun May 10, 2015 7:23 am

I'm Gary, and looking forward to learning the ropes of the TD type trailer. My plan is to build my own for a reasonable cost. Since I know zero about how to do that, I will be looking to this forum to lurk and learn. Once built, the plan would be to do some leisure travel, see some National Parks, etc. Would be towing with a 1998 Subaru Legacy L wagon.

Greetings Gary,

Well if you're looking to lurk and learn you've come to the right place!

Am pretty sure the lurkers and learners far outnumber the number of actual posters here. I lurked for months before I joined. There is so much information here it can be a bit mind boggling and addictive to poke around through the old threads.

Best wishes on your design and build. I've seen numerous advocates of foamies say that they are a cost efficient way to build so you may want to take a peek there. http://tnttt.com/viewforum.php?f=55

Of course with careful and resourceful shopping and repurposing any design can be made more affordable if a foamie isn't appealing to you.

One first hand piece of advice, Subaru's brakes are fine for them but unless you have a VERY light weight trailer you will need brakes. I am driving Subaru #14 for us.
