Howdy from NW Florida

Tubo is my nom d'interweb, used on Classic Mustang Car, Mini Cooper, R/C aircraft, & Firearm Forums (not into killing any creatures, just enjoy shooting) I'm a young 67, with plenty of hobbies already, to occupy my time, Note Forums above. So imagine my surprise when my SWMBO(she who must be obeyed) suggested I should build a Teardrop Trailer. "I need more projects, like I need another hole in my head. What has the crazy woman got in mind now??"
She was right as usual, I should build aTD. So here I am.
Fer me the TD should be bout the size and function of a Little Guy 5' Wide, cost less and weigh less.

TY pchast,
I've continued with reading the different design & builder threads. Most of what I read is several years old, so nothing I have to say now is relivant, So haven't been posting.
No Worries my time will come.
One thing though, within all the build & design threads there seems to be a dirth of measurements given, I wonder why??
Example is the Pico lightweight plenty of diagrams, haven't seen any measurements. There was even a poster in the thread, that asked bout them. Ah Well, mysteries will be revealed.

Tubo,
At the top of the forum is Design Resources and under it is Design Library. If you click on the Pico Lite or any of the others, page down to the bottom of the information. There are links to download the plans that contain all the measurements, scale schematics... even the gauge of steel used......everything you need
Hope that helps. :)

Build just got easier

Wife Karol has been pounding Craaig'slist for a TD. For 5k or more I'd rather build. Most decent/worthy candidates are on the + end of $5k anyway.
Found in Marietta Ga. 2008 Little Guy 5 wide. Shell in great condition, interior ok cept cabinets have been rebuilt to not as good as the poor originals. Alloys w/spare, tires dry rotted., new batt,12vyes, no 110, Fantastic Fan only electronics, No LED's.
Price $2900. To make a short story I called the owner, he still had it, told him, "I'll buy it" didn’t even try to bargain, cos it seems a deal. Bought it!!
Cabinetry not a problem as I can now get creative and make my own, possibly save a smidgen of weight. Now I have to wait for July2 Thursday, to the 5 1/2 hr.drive up and get it. Hitch for Rav4 arrived this evening.
Have photos on the puter, guess I'll have to get them hosted to post.
At least I won't have to scramble to have something for Talladega this October.

I did buy the LG 5 Wide, though There was some bargaining. Selling price was $2400, due to some serious Oil canning on the upper surfaces and No keys. I don't think the oil canning is structural, though it's ugly. Does anyone know if this is an endemic problem with the early Little Guys?? The LG did pass the leak test on the way home, heavy rain last hour of the drive home. And no trailer lights. Probably cos I didn't get a good ground when installing the "T" connectors on the RAV4. Which did tow the TD well enough though at a significant hit in fuel mileage. IDK if the MPG loss was due to windage or weight. Which ever, the 4 cyl Toyota's apatite increased.
There are lots of improvement ideas, already in mind, like I'd love to add a storage well for the spare tire. All in all Karol & I are pleased with the TD purchase, and are looking forward to some travels with it.
