howdy from Odessa Tx

Howdy from the west side of Texas.
Name’s Wesley and I will be usin’ the screen name typoagain.
Live in a town called Odessa TX.
Father of 2 boys-ages 4 and 34 years (yea, just over 30 years apart. No one ever said I was very smart and I just do not rush things very much)
Since the older one has grown I am not a close to him As I would like to be. But it is nearly 400 miles to his place. So I have decided to buy a camper so that we can meet up and do some fishing somewhere in between our two places. I also remember all the camping I did as a boy I did with my family and I want to build these same memories for my youngest.
I have decided that a teardrop is the way to go and I think that I would like to build it myself. I am thinking 5’wide and 9 or 10 foot long. (The boss lady wants a queen size bed.) But I want at to be fairly light weight.
Now I always have a LONG list of projects going on at any time, so building a TD will take a little while. But I will get it done. I just have a weird way of doing things done that works for me.
I figure to have a frame done by spring and start the actually construction over next summer. (Maybe done by summer after next?) Earlier would be very nice, but the honey-do list is a small book.
It will work something like this:
Steps to building a frame
1. Install new power panel for house (done).
2. Run new wiring and power supply to construction area under backyard carport (currently working on that)
3. Hook up new wielding rig and remember how to wield. (Bought)
4. Build frame . . .
See what I mean? I always have other projects to add in during the project. It just takes me a while to get it all done. But when it is done, it will be done right!
I am going to need a lot of advice and I hear this is a good place to get it. Best of all, you can tell me I am being an idiot about something and it will not bother me. Especially since it probably is true!
Thanks in advance for the help and advice.
Later, Wesley
