Doing it different downunder

Postby migal0412 » Tue Jun 02, 2015 11:51 pm

I thought this may be of interest here. A 1948-52 FX Hilden ute downunder with a fifth wheel teardrop.Image

Not trying to be a smartarse but it is a 48/215, commonly referred to as the FX. Holden started using alphabetical model designations with the FJ, the model after this.

From memory, the FJ was released the year after I was born, 1953. The major change was a revamped grill and different tail light configuration.
I was born in 52.

Mum had an FJ and my first car was an FE. Still have fond memories of that old clunker.

There is an awful lot of Aussie baby boomers that owe their very existence to the FJ Holdens :D
