Yeah, I'm not a spring chicken myself. My 600 mile days meant 10 hours of driving, and a 10 or 15 minute break about every hour or so. The GPS kept track of it for me. Almost all my driving was freeway, but there were definitely some more stressful areas. I despise going through the Dallas/Ft Worth area. I managed to hit it at rush hour, and I was never in the correct lane....
I did a google search, and it looks like most sites recommend keeping it to a max of 500 miles for a solo driver. That's probably a pretty good number. Of course one of the nice things about the TD, is if you feel tired you can always find a place to pull over and take a nap, or call it a day.
