I know this is an older thread, but I have been thinking on how to do a screen when I get around to building.
The thought I had was, that since I'll be skinning the inside with fabric, why not glue a piece of fabric to the wall around the door and leave a flap not glued with a zipper sewn to it and have a zippered screen ala tent doors. Any reason this won't work?

Sounds like a good idea to me if you have mad sewing skills. Velcro added later would be easier to install tho.

I think the trick would be to get it to all line up where you want it when gluing it down. Seems to me that it is not an exact process and the doors might not fit the zipper flap the way you intend once everything has oozed around and shrunk up a bit. Maybe with some careful bamboo skewer pinning.

Another issue could be the stress from pulling on the zipper might tend to lift the base fabric, separating it from the foam. Dunno.

I've given that some thought. My plan is to "hang" the screen door as a whole to allow for fit. Since I'll have a wooden door jamb, I can staple the fabric to that as I work my way around the opening. I will also put up a wooden molding nailed to the jamb, sandwiching the fabric, as I go.
In theory, this should relieve any stress on the glued fabric and the base fabric.

Since "testing" seems to be a right of passage for foamie builders, I guess this will be my chance to do some.

I am going to attempt a wood-frame screen door that sits on the gasket support framing. Like the commercial RV screen doors with that plastic slider that lets the handle pass thru. I may give it up but I will try it. A simple wood frame with a routed screen mounting slot for spline.

Will go visit the RV dealers for remedial instruction by example
