Just a little thought about how good it is in this little community. Or some comparison shopping. I just joined a vbulletin board for one of my other hobbies, that I thought would be just as fun as this group. Its a freakin soap opera. I MAY only maintain my membership out morbid couriosity of its demise. Let me give you a summary of the top ten topics on the board this evening (names changed to protect the forum)
- The NATIONAL Show has Been Cancelled
- Enough - We're all adults. You all apologize please and get this board back on track
-I Wish All Elite Gurus were like MEMBER29 Respect!
-What has THESE Forums meant to you?
-An 'umble lurking Englishwoman's thoughts on the recent 'spats'..
- Enough Threats Already - Are We Committed or Not!!!
- Please Don't Let the Door Hit You in the Ass on Your Way Out!!
- Throwing the baby out with the bathwater

Some of these topics were one day old with 1100 reads, and over 100 comments. They have just over 3000 members similar to our forum. WOW! Many of their moderators seemed to have left in the past week. ANWAY we gots it good here thanks to all of you  and the moderators that make it clean and fun :applause: :applause:

I'm definitely with you on this one,Matt. If it was'nt for the great way that all the Admins do their job this forum probably would'nt exist in it's current format. Thanks to one and all Admins.
Great job!
Cheers

Many thanks to Mike who keeps this site organized. I've joined other "blogs" but none are as good and as informative as this one. The "off topic" items keep it interesting and the general discussion is great for everyone.
What more could you ask for. Private areas for gathering information, tips and techniques, off topics , etc. It all comes together really well.

Everyone has a common interest but each of us is decidedly different. That's what makes it a great forum.

Thanks to everyone for being themselves. :applause: :applause:

Try moderating a Relationships Talk list (on yahoo groups). What drama! What angst! What partners some people insist on sticking with ("hello...my partner stays up all night speaking with women on singles lists. We haven't been intimate in six months. Do you think he may cheat on me?")

Reading about teardrops is fun!

Moderating a forum is harder than it looks. And there's no keeping everyone happy all the time. Believe us, we've tried.

But we've got several good admins, and most of the members do what it takes to keep the flame wars under control. I think most of us are happy with our little community here.

I too have been on other sites, and there is a lot less information sharing, and a lot more of the other stuff. It's always refreshing to come back here!

Another old post to dredge up.

I joined another travel trailer forum to get some info on those trailers (you know who you are). Even though I probably won't be picking mine up for another few months or so, I generally lurk. I have put up a couple of posts but not many. Posts don't seem to be met with the same enthusiasm as we have on this obard. Threads usually don't last more that a dozen or so replys. Also, I don't know why, but people there don't put links of pics as often as we do here. They have more user friendly software so, posting pics and links is easy.

I managed to knock 3 things off my list. Albeit they were quick ones. I swapped the screws on the windows for security screws, I installed an el cheapo lock hasp on the hatch, and most importantly, I die stamped my VIN number! I started to install the 3rd set of hatch struts. I only did the fiberglass reinforcement though.

Now that I have a VIN, I can get my tags on Monday!
