Greetings from Virginia

Postby Albuoy » Thu Jun 11, 2015 8:38 am

Hello everyone,

I am 31 years old, and have a lot of time on my hands. I have been wanting to do some camping for a while, and I happened to see these teardrops on Pinterest. I started doing some research into them, and started to really like them. I have always been gifted with woodworking, and see this as a challenge to build my own. After lurking here for a while, I have definitely picked up some great ideas and thoughts going into this. I will be making a thread here before too long about the build from the ground up. Tear drops don't seem to be a big concept here in central Virginia, and hopefully with this build, I can get some heads turning and bring them this way. Also, would like to network through this site, ive learned some of the best friends I have made are from forums like this.

I can't wait to get this build started, and can't wait to share the progress with everyone.

Thanks!

What part of VA? Prince George County here.

I will definitely do a big build thread. I have lots of ideas that will separate this from a normal build from what I have seen. Including built in outdoor speakers on the side. Some may like it, some may hate it. Building for comfort and luxury away from home. I am working on getting my trailer now, the one I have may need quite a bit of work, so first plans with that are removing all wiring, sandblasting, repacking the bearings, and rewiring to my specifications.

Finally found a trailer that I can use, hopefully picking it up this weekend as long as the guy doesn't sell it. 6x10 a little bigger than I as going for, but the deal is just to good. Build thread will be coming soon, as long as I can pick this up. Stay Tuned

We have a gathering there every year in April. Come join us and become a Tearjerkers member, I have stickers. Last gathering we had over 18 trailers.

I will look forward to it. I am close to Pocahontas State Park if you know where that is.
