Hello from Tennessee

Postby JamesBraunstein » Tue Jun 16, 2015 1:20 pm

Hello everyone! I'm a newcomer from the great state of Tennessee. I currently reside outside of Nashville, and I am attending my 5th and final year of college while working towards my airframe and powerplant certificate. I was inspired to build a tiny trailer after seeing a video of someone building one. Luckily, I already have a trailer that is a good candidate for a build.

In 2009, I was still in high school in east TN when a storm came through and blew a tree on top of my friend's trailer. It bent the axle, broke the fiberglass nose cone, and bent some of the frame. He gave it to me because he couldn't use it anymore. It sat at my parents house since then. A few months ago, before I had even considered making a camper out of it, I stripped the rest of the trailer down and replaced the axle with the intention of hauling stuff with it.

Anyway, I look forward to reading more about designing a trailer and seeing other incredible builds! Cheers!

Welcome. The Tennessee chapter of tearjerkers is having their fall gathering in September up near you. You should come join us and check out some of the teardrops. I think they have 22 sites booked already and they are a good bunch of people. Even though you don't have it built yet you can get some ideas first hand and ask questions. We are all willing to answer questions about our builds. Plus, as someone who is wanting to build an airplane someday, it would be good to know an A&P.
