I've been working a temp job for a couple weeks- and working on finishing a couple AR builds- My wife says I have too many hobbies.

I found a new use for the Weekender-- the doorway makes a perfect place to clamp my vise.

I am close proceeding on a desirable item a camper needs- a place to wash up= a sink.
I will use a piece of 4" pvc for the graywater tank. This 5ft section of pvc will hold a little over 3 gallons of greywater- a simple gate valve on the bottom and section of garden hose will be enough to dump it. Visualize the sink on the rear wall on the curbside corner ( above the tail light) , above the slant, with the sink drain going straight down into a tee on the pvc pipe. If anyone sees a flaw in my plan, please speak up before I cut out the hole.
I think I can use a 15" stainless bar sink, if I am unable to find a suitable RV sink. The prices are reasonable for them.
And-- a small section of dropped floor in front of the sink may be in the works, too. Stay tuned--

Although you most likely just omitted to mention it, when you say "straight down" it prompts me to remind you that a trap is always a good idea. Keeps the stanky smells from coming back at you. Believe you me that even gray water can get pretty foul. I'm not sure what common practice is in RV's, as far as keeping the trap from sloshing its water down the drain when jostling down the road, but I can't imagine why there would be a problem adding a knife valve somewhere near the trap that could be closed for travel or off season.

No trap- just a simple on/off ball valve under the sink.- open the valve when I drain the graywater, so it drains quickly.

I found an RV sink on Amazon, so as soon as it arrives, I will begin this project.

Got the sink in place today- I'm working slower now as it is up to 95 already here.
I can sit on the edge of the bed and have comfortable access to the sink- a much better location that in the corner and having to stoop over. Next- install the drain pipe and the 4" PVC-
There will be some wardrobe type storage in the corner.

I got a little more done. I only work a couple hours in the morning, due to the heat and humidity - it's been 95 degrees 2 days in a row.
The hanger rod is made from a piece of 1" electrical EMT conduit- I should be able to hang up a dozen shirts and some pants. If the hangers bounce off the rod, I will have to install a piece of shim plywood above the rod to reduce the gap above the rod.
What to do with the top? Leave it as is and use it for a TV, put a storage box on it? Build some cubby shelves? Pantry storage? I don't know- maybe someone with experience knows the answer. The sink drain pipe will be next.

I just realized that on the 15th, I passed six months on my build. It doesn't seem like that long to me. It's been an enjoyable project.

The sink, drain and gray water storage is 95% done. The location of the 4" PVC is directly under the frame and 20" behind the axle. This worked out better for the drain= straight down. The location of the PVC will result in a lower center of gravity and better weight distribution. The PVC pipe holds 3.3 gallons of drain water.
I still need to install a small drain valve in the end of the pipe so I can use a short section of hose to drain out the gray water. The total cost of this sink addition was about $60- thanks in part to some salvaged 4" PVC from a construction job. The sink was about $25 off of Amazon prime. At some point I will probably install a small water tank under the bed and a 12vdc pump. I have plenty of room under the sink for a couple gallon containers of water. I will need to add a 1x4 board on the floor to keep the water jugs in place.

For free water jugs, find a friend who has indoor cats. I find the small to medium litter jugs are perfect for water.

It was in the mid 90's today and the heat index= 112 degrees. I have reluctantly had to stop working on my build, unless I can get something done early in the morning, but I don't move fast in the morning, due to the retirement mode I find myself in during the summer.
