What shape is this? Solved "Short Wife Standy"

Postby UK-Corlett » Mon Jun 08, 2015 8:08 am

Hi

The problem is I am not building a teardrop its a "TD-influenced small/trailer/standy" but you know as accurate as it may be its dose not trip off the tong.
I am a looking for a professor of closed solid mathematics who can tell me the proper name for this solid.

If a standard teardrop could be described as an elliptical prism, whats this?

This line is the outer edge of my design. If you pumped air into it, it could be a tennis ball. Moebius solid perhaps, it has two sides and one edge.

Of coarse I stole the shape from other builder on this site, they use TD but mines a standy and it just don't fit.

We all should recognize that shape, it is of course a trapitbual curved anti parabolic confister of the first order and could not ever stand without terpipitual support. Good luck.

Nu-uh, that's obviously a closed 10 speed handlebar! It seems like there wouldn't be much room inside the tubing, but it ought to be really aerodynamic!

If the line represents the edges of the trailer body,
then you have a design with the two end "radiuses"/curves
90 degrees off from each other.
If you have a house - you have a hobby.

Hi Mezmo

The shape is the outline of my current build, see Build Journal "UK-Corlett TD2"
I keep being asked what shape is it and I don't have an answer.

Hi

If I am asked what are you building, I don't have a quick reply, hence the post but Thanks to 'Noseoil' its now solved

He has posted on my build journal that I should call it a "Short Wife Standy"

My wife is only 5' and she will be able to stand up but ordinary mortals will have to stoop a little.

So "what are you building Clive" - "Why its a Short Wife Standy"

I am happy with this this its informative and funny.
