Greetings from the State of Misery

Greetings everyone!
Purchased a new teardrop (economy model) this past April for some fall / winter trips: mostly around my home state of MO, but not exclusively. I know most folks are not enamored by winter camping, but that's primarily what I have planned. There are a few of you out there, and I've read a thread or two here on winter teardrop camping: learned a few things and had a few good chuckles to boot!

Looking forward to your tips, experiences and recommendations. Who knows, maybe we'll cross trails outside cyber land!

Welcome to the group We winter camp a lot out here better then the heat in the summer Really we can camp year round and be comfortable most of the year.

One thing for sure, that dessert you fella's share can sure get cold in the winter: been to both Nevada and AZ in January and that cold dessert wind blow right through ya: with force!
I'm working on a few "low tech" heat ideas, mostly to keep my water and other items from freezing at night. I have the personal gear to stay warm but everything else inside would freeze at this point since most of my camps will be dry camps. Trial and error I suppose. Right now the humidity here is so oppressive that ANY camping would be fairly uncomfortable. That's another thing I LOVE about your states: low humidity! I'm itching to get out, just not practical for me right now.

Neat looking little rig.

My little wooden box heats up really well with a cheap little ceramics dash / window heater. Jut remember keep are flow in the camper.
Cold air flow is better them no air at all.

Looking for a low tech heater that is fully vented for dry camping.
Have you seen my postings?

Thanks KennethW for your reply. I started the thread and will keep reading. I always stay open minded to new ideas. Kicking a few around in my head as well... we'll see how those go as well.

Can't wait for the fall and winter. Summer is my least favorite season, and even though this wet, cooler summer is dramatically different than the norm, it really does bite. Very uncomfortable here this summer, campsites here are about to take a huge hit and their season is all but lost, with two major holidays damp, and everything in between drenched. POURING here right now as I type this. YUK......
