rain gear that will keep you dry?

Postby ae6black » Tue Jun 30, 2015 9:06 pm

Does anybody have any rain gear that they would recommend? I just got drowned at the Creation Music Festival in Central Pa. The Sterns light duty rain jacket that I was wearing was somewhat inadequate. It sweated through and the seams leaked. After fifteen or so hours of sitting and standing in the rain I was pretty soaked through and through. Coleman Rain pants that I was wearing did a good job. What kind of light rain coat or rain jacket do you have that you would recommend?

Yes, Frogg Toggs has some interesting and varied products out there. I found most of the ones I like in Sporting Stores like Cabelas, Bass Pro and small outdoor products stores.

I'll pick up a set....I can't stand getting rained on....absolutely the best thing you can do to put me in a foul mood. And the only thing worse than getting rained on is putting on a rain jacket that makes you start to sweat....so you are just as wet as if you stood in the rain, but this time the moisture is self-produced.

Sorry for such a brief post before, but wasn't able then to elaborate. You'll be happy with them. The material is a little stiff at first, but it does hold up to use.

They are the lightest breathable rain suit I have ever used. They are great for hiking, and they keep me dry on a motorcycle in driving rain.

Cindy, have you touched some of the newer models out.

I forgot the model number already, but many of the newer choices are much softer and the prices were not that bad either.

I love foul weather. I would be missing a lot of fun if I missed "bad" weather.

For an all around light weight jacket I like this one. Waterproof, windproof, packable, lots of colors to choose from. Membrain waterproof barrier. I size it so I can fit a fleece under it which allows me to use it 3 and 1/2 seasons. Lots of versatility for a single piece of clothing. - pretty durable at a reasonable price.

For something that costs less, is very light weight, very packable, but not as durable I like the O2 rainware.

Enjoy!
